    Examen Cambridge C1

After being one year in England as an Erasmus Student I want to go back to Spain and face the C1 Exam from Cambridge. I think that my level is enough to pass it but it will be a challenge for sure. Does any of you guys have exams or any material that could help me???? Also if any of you have passed it before... feel free to share your experience..

I have passed FCE two years ago and I think that if you start doing the C1 mock exams you could get it easily, C1 is more about vocabulary and fluency so you'll pass it for sure with your year abroad experience

No, I was born in Spain. I started learning English 3 years ago, but I didn't feel that I was improving until I got here..
If you really wanna learn your English skills I would recommend you not to hang out with Spanish people. You will feel more comfortable but afterwards you will feel that you wasted your time. I know plenty of students here who came from Spain and didn't learn a shit..

Bear in mind that all these exams are "perishable". That is, they have an expiration date, so your hard-earned circa 200 euros will be spent on something that won't last but a couple of years (and won't even be recognised in most English-speaking countries).

As a thing that will only last for TWO years before becoming obsolete, finding it expensive can be considered the most sensible reaction...

The real value of money are the chances its make possible. A exam like CAE give you many of them in a country like Spain, and not only for two years (maybe yes its full potencial). But my point is not if the CAE is expensive, i said that the people think this are poors or closely to be that.

I've been checking on the internet and I read that it will last forever and it's recognised around the world. I'll keep what you said on my mind and I'll search more information..

You'd better improve your English before making any assumptions about our wealth. That way you'd be at least able to express your nonsenses correctly.

To be honest I think that is the best way to learn. I had English class in high school but, come on! They don't teach you a shit. How can someone who doesn't even speak the language teach you anything.. I learnt with Breaking Bad, The big bang theory, two and a half men...

That's true and I totally agree with you. Most English teachers in Secondary School do not bother to speak the language so they are not precisely set an example for their students who keep up hope on learning a bit of English, when the real thing they learn is fucking useless rules and to be afraid of making mistakes because students end up thinking that making mistakes is something punishable and mistakes must not be allowed anytime. Hence, when we try to speak English, our own misconception of mistakes and our own fear of making them lead us into a vicious cycle of 'If I speak English, I may make mistakes so it is not worth trying.'

My advice: I am an English teacher and whether my students are used to hearing English in class or not, it is the language I always speak, although I grade my language all the time tailoring it to their level so that they can understand me, but they like me because I am myself a challenge for them. Do not rely on those who promise you they will be able to make you pass the C1 exam in a week as that means, in broad terms, a bullshit on the road waiting for your blindness to stumble into it and get psychologically frustrated because of their fake promises. Rely on yourself and practice as much English as you can. If I were you, I would not think twice.

What's the point of making an english exam perishable? Am I supposed to forget my english in two years?

well first of all I don't think that I'm gonna give it a try without being prepared, I've been a full year studying in a University in UK so If I've been able to pass all the modules here in UK, I think that I'm prepared to face that challenge. About the mistakes thing I totally agree with you.. Let me show you a video that it will hit deep in your heart xD
